Podiatry and Podiatrist, ashford, Cranbrook and Canterbury
Podiatry is the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, knee, leg and hip.
Podiatrists treat people with arthritis, diabetes, childrens' growth problems, ingrowing nails and sports injuries.
This includes diagnosing and treating lower limb problems by looking at the function of the foot and its associated structure, known as biomechaincs.
Treatment methods include exercise prescription, acupuncture, the use of insoles or orthoses and referral for other treatment methods.
Orthoses are custom made insoles made from impressions of the foot, they aim to improve function and reduce symptoms and discomfort.
